Pakistan National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce: The Paris-based International Chamber of Commerce ICC is the world business organization (www.iccwbo.org). It is a federation of national committees, which represent the economic interests of the country and all parties within that country especially those involved in international business. This makes it an ideal fit within the objectives framework of this paper. Mr. Tariq M. A. Rangoonwala heads the Pakistan National Committee. Mr. Rangoonwala is Chairman of the Board of Rangoonwala Group of Companies and Trustee ZVMG Rangoonwala Trust and Foundation. The North American Trade and Investment Facilitation (NATIF) Commission is co-chaired by Mr. Rangoonwala and Mr. Khalid Awan, a prominent businessman with interests both in Canada and Pakistan. The Pakistan National Committee has recently been successful in working with the private sector and the government in bringing about key reforms: the ratification of the New York Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards and the Customs Administration Reform Plan. The ICC Pakistan is now in a position to benefit from further training on issues of policy development, advocacy and identification and delivery of targeted services to the SME community in Pakistan.
